Specfically week commencing 23rd/24th...
Obviously it would need to be a resort that's still open. I daresay there'll be some cheap accomodation in places that have shut for the summer
Anyone know of any good 'uns?

I've used MountainSun and would recommend (in Tignes) however I might be easier to please than some so can't guarantee you will have the same experience. I think that there have been other recommendations for them on this forum (do a search)

I'd prefer to go on holiday with people I actually like though.

Excluding flights and transfers though, making it an inconvenient rip off. I'm after deals.

I am offering cheap ski passes (£110 each) for people who book with me in Tignes.

I can imagine your ski buddies saying very similar Could always get an apartment to yourself and avoid all the internet weirdos as much as possible. For lift pass and accom it is a pretty good deal in an ideal resort.

Mr Technique, I'd not book anywhere for that week just yet - it's very warm now and the snow cover is already pretty sketchy in many French resorts. Here in the Espace Diamant it is worse than it's been at the end of the season (over a month later) for the last 10 years. The forecast is pretty uncertain after this coming weekend but unless there's a big change cover won't be worth spending even a small amount of money on in a month's time. If I had to book now, and in France, I'd go for Tignes.

I'm sure it's not. We've got much better snow than most places around, but it's still rubbish for March. Without a big change in the weather I suspect that few resorts will be worth bothering with that week.

I suspect that as long as there's a man-made slush puppie combover on a couple of runs, and a functioning pub, that something will be worth bothering with.

Looks a good deal but you'll be unlikely to be skiing in and out in Les Brevieres at the end of April unless there's a huge change in the weather.

Little different from the mountain sun deal, with no flights.

It's £200 different. Which will easily pay for the flights.
Maths not your strong point?

Flights £100 swiss from Heathrow, £106 sleazy Gatwick so looks like a cheap trip.

Transfers are always quite expensive, too though. Generally around the same as a cheap flight. With a family, a hired car is probably the cheapest way to do it.

Mountain sun offers return transfers for £50, how much extra will open market transfers be? extra £50?
And Le Loup you're only getting 30% off list price. Thought you were after a deal!

Are you suggesting that £147pp for 8 people catered accomodation in the Alps doesn't constitute a 'good deal'?
If you know of any better ones, perhaps this is the thread to post them in!!!!

Mmmm, 4 bedrooms, sleeps 9, ONE bathroom .
A tent is cheap but I wouldn't do that either.

It's certainly cheap, I'll grant you that. But it's not much of a reduction on full price, and sounds very basic, so no I don't think it does. It's £169 anyway...
If you reckon on £200 for the flights and transfers, and it's £169, so £369 total. (With no bathroom for six of the people, as mentioned.)
And you're staying in a resort miles from any snow.
Compare that to £289 for next week in a very nice chalet in La Tania where there will be a bathroom per two. (I've posted this link before, not because I've any connection, other than once going on one of their holidays) http://www.alpineaction.co.uk/prices-winter-10-11.htm Now, that's a deal.
