I am a new member so go easy, please! I won a pair of Zag slap skis on my holiday but I know nothing about the brand or the skis, are they just a kiddie on manufacturer or are they a big brand? They are definetly too big/good for me - I am intermediate at best and these look like powder skis or twin tips. I tried to find shops in the UK who sell them but I am not having much luck.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Very radical for their time - now others have caught up with big tips and maybe surpassed with rocker etc. Probably a specialist ski for certain keen skiers so don't expect to punt them on ebay as easily as some bog standard crappy Salomon piste cruisers.
So they are a decent brand but they look WAY out of my league so it looks like I will need to sell them at least they will go to a good home as I am not entirely sure they are designed to be used by someone who snow plow turns when the snow is too icey!
Cheers for the help.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

davidhammy,
Hi I just saw your message- quite old now! Did you sell your skis in the end?
No, i didn't sell them in the end. I am still not sure what i want to do with them so if you want to make me an offer just let me know.
Cheers

davidhammy, like fatbob says above the brand doesn't have enough recognition to do well on ebay, better to sell them on a specialist site like snowHeads. i am not familiar with the Slap, but all Zag skis should be well designed. as they are from the season just gone they will be far east manufactured as zag have only just shifted some manufacturing back to the EU, not in itself a problem if QC was well overseen.

as fatbob says, radical back in the day, basically snowboards on your feet, they are relatively easy to ski (watch the video to 7m15 and he'll talk about the Style.Libre.Arrière-Pays.)

Skiied the Slap MW a few years ago, really nice ski and super easy to ski, one of the nicest rocker skis of its time I'd say from a rather hazy memory!
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I posted a code for 50% off Zag skis direct from their website a couple of weeks ago.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

You know it makes sense.

Zags are floppy in the tip and tail so ski short i.e.get longer than normal. They are designed to give more versatility than regular skis i.e. to perform better on piste and off piste than most other single skis.
Your slaps are not necessarily too advanced. But, their big catch was that the softness makes them less suited to ice. The Big and the Gold are excellent. The new carbon Tour looks fantastic as well but I have not tried them.
