Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So where in Italy?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Various message boards seem to be suggesting that along with the Southern French Alps that Italy is also having a not too bad season. As I have done Serre Che in France loads I quite fancy Italy. Other than the Milkyway resorts which I assume have ok snow (as just down the road from Serre Che) where else is good?

I’m going out first week in April and I’m going to leave it last minute, usually head for large resorts but this year I’m more concerned about getting some half decent snow. Would like to avoid Brown patches at the side of runs, maybe I’m being a bit precious but it ruins the view.

Any help much appreciated.

Gressoney is great and enjoying a good season, if you do go and want a huge laugh being guided go to the guide station at Gressoney and ask for Rudy, he is a genuine nut job and the best guide I have ever used.

Gressoney is good if all you want to do is ski. It's got no apres to speak of - only the hotel bars. The Du Four hotel is where all the guides hang out as the owner is also the head guide - Carlo. Otherwise take a taxi 5km down to St Jean.

If you do go to Monterosa make sure you book a night to stay at Rifugio Guglielmina, 150 year old "hotel". It has decent rooms, good food, great wine, showers and a stunning location at 2700m. You're guaranteed fresh tracks in the morning!
