Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing in and out of Villaroger

 Poster: A snowHead

Does anyone know if you can take chairlifts down into Villaroger if the snow conditions prevent you skiing down? Or are there snow cannons which prevent this from being a problem?

Thanks
K

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The pisteurs do a good job of keeping the blue run open as long as possible. At the end of the season however the snow disappears towards the bottom and I guess the lift is the only option. Beware, one Easter having had an excellent lunch in Chalet de Solliet we missed the closed signs on the red run and ended up having to walk about a km down to Villaroger when the snow on the trail disappeared.

It's a good question. I only know two people who would definitely know. You'll find them here.

kosciosco, Only just saw this thread, if you post over to the Les Arcs season thread in the snow reports section you will get the latest on the conditions all over Les Arcs including down to Villaroger. I have been there yesterday and conditions are bad at the bottom right now, more like late April. Lift there shut for the season ealier than the rest of Les Arcs, but as long as they are open, if needed you can go down on the lifts. Right now the only run that is open is the blue from the Solliet down. Higher up the red is just passable but very soft. Hope that helps.
