Poster: A snowHead

Just wondering who runs ski improvement weeks. Thinking for next season. Current level would be confident on all pistes (so no - it isn't for me (but then I might also be interested)).

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

From when I was looking in my favourites I have; Snoworks, Warren Smith, Inspired to Ski, Ali Ross, Mountain Masters, Alpine Coaching. Sure there are more too, that was a couple of years ago. If it's for older children some do parallel courses for teens and their parents.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Colin B, thanks, have you done any of them?

Ray Zorro, No I didn't in the end. I think there are probably many on here though who have used most of them between them though.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ray Zorro, I did a week with the predecessor to "Inspired to Ski" (I think it was called The Ski Company, Sally Chapman's outfit) some years ago, in Tignes. Was very good, but I guess it all depends on the instructor. I had Dave Peek, who was excellent and the formula was a good one, with video feedback. It was good to be with so many keen skiers (I was in the next to bottom group at the "sorting out" though I think I'd creep a little higher up the pecking order another time).
I haven't done any of those since, but have had v good instruction in Les Deux Alpes with easiski and Fastman, and in Tignes with Kevin from Evolution 2.
I'd strongly recommend it, if someone in your "group" is doing it - especially if you haven't had any instruction for a while.
It's time I did another one, actually.

Ray Zorro, I've done Inspired to Ski three times - very useful and enjoyable.

Ray Zorro, oh dear, I had thought you had been skiing before Will you be alright in Scotland? I understand they do have nursery slopes there though so you should be OK if you don't manage to get onto a course before next Friday.

Ray Zorro, I did a week with the Warren Smith academy in Verbier a couple of years ago and rate them very highly. Lots of focused coaching in fairly small groups, time spent going back to basics and getting them right, good use of video analysis and good progression through the week to more advanced skills and technique. I still use drills they gave me and feel like I made a real step change in my skiing in that week.
