Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Having moved from Queenstown at the end of last winter, I thought I'd start a different thread for this year. A bit premature, but we had the first decent snow of the year overnight Very Happy Probably not the nicest night for anybody with no roof left on their house.

This area is where a lot of the scenes from Rohan were shot in Lord of the Rings

I went fishing this morning, but walked up the hill a bit, and went for a slide down on my back bottom. Might have a go at hiking this one next time there's a dump.

I see the 'quakes continue, I hope they don't disrupt the season (or peoples' lives for that matter). Excellent photography, hang11, - are you a professional photographer?

No, I'm not a professional photog. Would love to do that for a living.

It's not hard to get nice shots in NZ, just needs a reasonably good camera, and to turn up at the right spot and point it in the right direction.

The quakes shouldn't disrupt the season, Chch is far enough away from the ski fields, the airport is open, although it may keep the crowds down a bit.

hang11, I don't think you need to worry about doing it for a living... I'd pay good money for most of your photos. Very Happy Another set of Going green inducing pictures. Beautiful. Very Happy Very Happy
