We had another terrific C2C week in March 2011 - wall to wall sun/blue sky ALL WEEK!
The date for 2012 is 10th-17th March ...
and it's never too early to enquire if you may be interested. PM me or contact easiski (www.easiski.com). We are now also on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cautious-to-Confident-Skiing/173401232708915
Who is it aimed at: Skiers of any ability, from beginner to more advanced who would like confidence-boosting instruction at a gentle pace. Lesson groupings (usually max 4 students per group) are arranged to suit those who book. British Sign Language (BSL) support is also available if required (at no charge). We really like it when friends/family come too. They can go off and ski with new friends some of the time and at others offer encouragement to us to practise outside of lessons - yes we can find it quite hard to just go off and ski!
**********************************************************************
MARCH 2011 Information
Updated 9th Nov
Following successful weeks in 2009 & 2010, we are now nearly fully booked for
C2C 2011
Having got my non-negotiable working commitments sorted for next March we've managed to set the date to be the same week as the 2010 week. The format will be similar, but as ever, details will be determined by the needs of those who book.
When:
March 19th-26th 2011
Who for:
Skiers of any ability, from beginner to advanced who would like confidence-boosting instruction at a gentle pace. Lesson groupings are arranged to suit those who book. British Sign Language (BSL) support is also available if required (at no charge).
Lessons:
A 2-hour lesson each day for 6 days with max 4 people per group. Specialist "clinics" to address specific issues, such as bumps, deeps & carving can be arranged to suit those interested.
Friends/family:
All are very welcome. We hope that those who don't require tuition will find camaraderie in skiing together and in encouraging those practising skills between lessons.
Travel & Accommodation:
Advice can be given but booking is up to the individual.
Easyjet/Ryanair fly to Grenoble from various UK airports and Easyjet now also fly Bristol-Lyon. You can take the Euro* train from London to Grenoble and change in either Lille or Paris. Cheaper tickets are available for early bookings, the cheapest option being to book each leg separately, or you can wait and book a straight through option. Cheap connecting tickets in the UK with no time restrictions are available too. Ben's Bus do transfers from Grenoble for about £45 return. There is also a good cheap local transfer bus (Satobus) to LDA from Grenoble rail station with connections from Grenoble & Lyon airports.
Easiski can recommend hotels/chalets/apartments and assist with booking where necessary. Solo skiers can be put in touch with each other if they wish to find room-mates; this has worked well before. We will have a central base at the Lutins Hotel (near the Jandri I & Express) where we'll meet at the end of each day's skiing for drinks, chat and to review any video footage. It is a very good budget option. It's B&B, but those who stayed there last year took a deal with the Il Caminetto restaurant which offered a 3-course evening meal for 15 Euros per night.
Equipment:
Good quality hire kit will be available at a discount if arranged through Easiski with SkiExtreme. Last year the cost was €100 per 6 days for mid range skis and boots for those taking lessons.
Payments:
Unless otherwise arranged, accommodation costs will be payable directly to the hotel/chalet/apartment owner. Tuition fees & lift pass costs will be payable directly to Easiski who will liaise with each person.
BOOKING
More details on www.easiski.com. If you're interested, please either post here, or send a PM to me, or a PM or email to Easiski

Butterfly, I'm glad we've finally got a date for this. I'm looking forward to it already.
I can't tell anyone any costs at the moment because I don't know the price of the liftpasses, and I don't know if I'll be able to get much discount. (Nasty rumour I heard last week is that the Compagnie des Alpes is going to raise the prices and try to freeze out all the 'little' guys - I hope that's all it is). Lessons will be €180 pp/pw as last year though.

easiski, CDA immediately invested in Serre Chevalier when they took over, and are continuing to do so. I wouldn't be too worried that they will keep all of their investments in the Savoie, I am sure they need all of their ski areas to make money. Eurekaski's decision to merge with NewGen had nothing to do with lift pass discounts or lack of business.

easiski, Hope you're keeping well. Glad to see H is on the case again
I may tag along again next year but can't commit yet so I'm just keeping an eye on this thread for the time being. Your website suggests 5 of the 12 places have been reserved, leaving 7 still available. Is that an accurate picture of the current position?

Red Leon, - certainly hope you will be there. I've been away working most of August (3 events & home for just a few days between them). When I got in last night hubby simply said "Who are you?"!!
I guess if we get inundated with takers we may look at spreading it over 2 weeks as we did once before.

Red Leon, yes it has rather hasn't it? We have got a good number of takers - but seriously hope you'll be coming too. I am just about to book accommodation once we have agreed on where!
Will get the OP updated with arrangements when sorted.

I would definitely recommend this week to anyone looking for relaxed instruction in a small group. I thought the Lutins was great value as was the meal in the evening at Il Caminetto.
Last year the Friday afternoon after the rain in the morning and then the heavy snow was definitely my best days skiing
Sorry I can't come this year, I'll read about it on here no doubt.

Red Leon, I'm glad to hear it! I think you made huge strides in the last 2 years - just look at the vids if you need evidence. Main thing on a bash is to talk to whoever you're skiing with before you go. Make sure you're in like minds and then just do it!

I've just booked in for this (finally!).
Having never organised anything DIY, this is a new experience for me! Hopefully I've got the hotel booked already! JUst need to sort flights and transfers out now!

mustdash, From my experience, the C2C is an ideal introduction to DIY holidays. Grenoble airport is nice & small with Ben's Bus waiting right outside to whisk you to LDA and you right in the middle of town about 100m from the Lutins Hotel
You'll have a fab time, I'm sure

Red Leon, I've spoken to and emailed the Lutins, so hopefully thats alrady sorted. I'm looking at flying Sleazey Jet from Stanstead to Grenoble, then returning to B'ham (as the B'ham departure gets in too late), with transfers on Bensbus.
I'm looking forward to it already!
