Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Argentiere UCPA Long weekend from 30th/31st March

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello all,

Have just booked myself onto a UCPA long weekend at Argentiere. Although I've been away with UCPA 3 times so far, but this will be the first long weekend I've done.

OK - so far myself (female early 30's) and a friend (male, early 40's) are def booked to go, and we'd like skiing/drinking buddies to join us Happy I've done 4 weeks skiing and Chris has done 2. We're both also pretty social and would enjoy some of the apres ski scene (although in a slightly more relaxed manner, rather than wild partying!)

I'm sure if you've been on this forum before so have heard of UCPA. However if not look UCPA or Action Outdoors on google and that will give you a good idea. Accomodation is hostel style.

Weekend counts from Thu am to Sun pm, 31st March to 3rd April. Personally we're going to be flying over on the wed evening so currently looking for somewhere to stay for that evening as can't check in til first thing Thu.

So far price is £250. This is for 4 days lift pass and ski/snowboard hire, 3 nights accomodation and all meals over the 4 days. As far as I'm aware there aren't endless places for the long weekend and they're not advertised on the website so far - you'll have to ring them up to enquire.

Anyone care to join us? Very Happy

PS - Am also a member of the powder junkies meet up site - http://www.meetup.com/Powder-Junkies/events/16752500/

Hi

This sounds good. I am looking for another cheap trip before the end of season. Who did you book through - Action Outdoors or UCPA?

Also where are you flying from and who with? I'm near Manchester and moet flights I've seen seem to go at the weekend.

Hello there Happy
I've booked through Action Outdoors. It actually cost £240 with the discount code TT2010. However having looked at the UCPA website, could have booked that way for 250euros. Not sure how easy that is..but may be worth a go to get it a good £20 cheaper (not sure which exchange rate they use).

You been to UCPA before?

We're flying from Machester! Used easy jet. Getting the 18.25 flight out on the Wed eve and the 17.00 flight back on the Sun eve. Both together are still less that £50, minus the taxes and luggage of course!

Tempted?

Rachel

Hi again

Yes tempted. Sounds good. Not been to Argentiere or the Chamonix valley but would like to try it.

No not been to any UCPA before but have had good reports from people I know who have.

Can't make a definite decision until the end of next week but will keep you posted.

Hello all,

Still space apparently from the long weekend in Argentiere.
Topcat - You thinking of coming along still?

Hi Rachel

Trying to decide between this and a cheap week in Tignes at the moment. A guy at work has a sister who has been out in the Chamonix valley for 7 weeks now and the snow conditions don't sound too good. Think it could be the same everywhere though. Will try and decide tomorrow evening and get something booked. Will keep you posted.

Hi again

Ok I finally booked something but have decided on the week in Tignes. Was slightly swayed by finding out that Graham Bell would be there on the 6th and can maybe race against him!! I'll have no chance but could be fun.

Joined meetup and Powder Junkies so will look out for more trips next season.

Hope you and the rest of the group have a great trip to Argentiere!

Hope you enjoy Tignes!

Anyone else who's intersted in a short last minute break - there are still spaces available at the UCPA Argentiere.
