Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Based on some previous comments I've looked into these books, it appears he does two now. Does anyone have any experience of them both, to compare and contrast?

What I can find on the web is:

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

kitenski, we bought both. The off piste book is for lift served with minor bootpacking/hiking (what we did Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and the ski touring guide for the more remote stuff (eg Thursdays tour). I contacted And Thurner by email and he came round to our chalet to drop them off when we got here. We also got 2 maps from the local book shop which are useful as the descriptions in the book aren't always that clear.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

kitenski, would add that there are two editions of the off piste book. The second edition has clearer maps and photos.

BobinCH, cheers, I have emailed him and he said he would post to the UK, but having him drop them at my hotel in Stuben may well be a better idea Smile

nozawaonsen, he has said he has New update 2009! for the off piste book, which I assume is the 2nd edition??

Irbis and I have also used the offpiste one. Won't take you far from civilisation but very useful to explore without a guide.
