Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Podiums & top 10 finishes for Evo's Children’s Girls, Boys and Junior Boys at English National Championships

Current British Children’s Number 1 Max Moss won Mondays English Championship Children’s Slalom, over ex British teammate Ashley Breeze. Max dominated the race, winning by both legs of the 2 run event to take the Overall victory by 1.5 seconds. In a display of true competitive spirit to overcome his rivals, despite the long drive from Slovenia the day before, Max mastered both of the technical courses with technical accuracy to add another title to his growing list of achievements. Max is a great character, smiling from foggy Slovenia to Sunny Bormio, and is always self-assured but never egotistical, despite again showing the skills that rank him as the best British Children’s skier. In the Giant Slalom competition Max was again so fast he had both spectators and other athletes engrossed in his “Gun Ho” style of skiing, before a slight tactical mistake ended his day, injuring his knee and forcing him to retire from the second leg of competition.

British Children’s Team Skier Jordan Lowe also put in a commendable effort, showing real passion and fight to place well in a competitive field despite tiredness from the long drive from Slovenia on Sunday night. Both Jordan and Max had been selected to represent their country in the International Competition in Slovenia, meaning a long journey to make the National Championships. Jordan has a come along way this season and performed well, and his coaching staff are confident that with the facilities available at Team Evolution within the unique set up, he will continue to flourish.

Britain’s most successful children’s female skier, Darcie Mead continued Team Evolutions great form at the English Championships, finishing 1st in the Giant Slalom and 3rd in the Slalom competitions, placing 1st overall in a tough field overall including fellow Evolution teammates, Rebecca and Teagan Brown. Rebecca won Slalom Competition and finished just behind Darcie in the Giant Slalom, while sister Teagan came 5th in slalom and 4th in Giant Slalom. Rebecca and Teagan are the latest athletes to race as part of the highly rated Team Evolution program, and will be continuing to represent Team Australia at International competitions over the next few months. It is always rewarding to see the athletes performing at fast and exciting races, but even better when it is at big events and when the athletes from within the Team Evolution setup are continuing to display such potential. Darcie’s podium spots are the result of a huge amount of hard work and dedicated assistance from coaching staff, parents, sponsors and training partners such as the Team Australia athletes.

Our rapidly improving new comer for the 2010/2011 season, Sarah Cutherbert accomplished two very commendable runs with mid table placing in the Slalom and Giant Slalom competitions at her first major National Championships. Her attitude to training, gym work and schooling has been exceptional and she is the one to watch out for next season as she continues to grow in confidence.

In the Junior category, fast and consistent British Junior Team athlete Max Baggio came 2nd in Slalom, 2nd in Super G and 2nd in Giant Slalom for Team Evolution, despite being the youngest competitor in his category. Max is hugely talented and despite just missing out on a European Youth Olympic spot for last month’s games, has bounced back and displayed the kind of form that proves he will be a key member of the British squad in future years.

One Team Evolution athlete just back from the Youth Olympics is Sam Clissold, who managed managed to finish 5th in Slalom, 3rd in Giant Slalom and 3rd in Super G despite carrying a slight ankle injury sustained on International duty. Sam is one of Team Evolutions most promising athletes, and has shown immense passion and determination to keep focused on these races following the Youth Olympic Games. Both Max and Sam are coping extremely well in their first year of International FIS racing, which is a huge step up from last year when they were in the Children’s category, and are consistently managing to place in the top 10. They have been helped by support and experience from racing alongside Ex British Development Team skier and new Team Evolution teammate Rob Bullen. He is ranked in the top 7 in Britain for each alpine discipline and has showed why, conquering the pistes here in Bormio to take the Overall English Championship Title in each competition so far.

Hannah Bilgore has continued to perform well, finishing well above her National ranking in each competition at the championships, with a good first race in Giant Slalom showing her potential, beating several in-form Junior Girls, including members of the England Alpine Team. Hannah is has a superb attitude to racing and is a strong team player within an individual sport, who is starting to reap the rewards of her hard work, especially within the Giant Slalom discipline.
Team Evolution truly has taken the English Alpine Championships by storm, raising the bar on and off the piste. As the Team Evolution set up is so unique, athletes are given the best opportunity to learn, develop and succeed. Our athletes have shown integrity, determination and true grit to face up to the challenging courses and tough competitors to top the podium repeatedly, and succeed time and again over the course of the Championships to do themselves and Team Evolution proud.

Team Evolution would like to thank all our sponsors and partners, VW Audi, Matrix, Watt Bike, Rampant Sports, Infinity Pro, Atomic, Level, Ski Pro Simulator, Adidas, Oakley, Suunto, Sidecut, Holmenkol, Leki, Uvex, Solutions 4 Feet, Ski Bartletts and Snowslippers for helping our team in a challenging sport.
