Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Robert Hardy, yes. As I remember there is an unavoidable one on the way back from Resterhohe. Boarders tend to spend more time on the Horn side, I can't tell you if there are any T bars there as I haven't skied over that side.

This is a list of lifts in Kitzbuhel. Drag lifts are 'Schlepplifts' but you'll see some are called 'Übungslift' which I think is for a nursery slope and might be a rope lift.

Robert Hardy, Kitz has gone through a series of major upgrades over the last few years as far as lifts are concerned. I was over there for the first time in about five years last week, and discovered that almost all T-Bars had been replaced by chairs. I only came across one remaining T which is a short connecting lift to get you back from the Aschau area to the Pengelstein area. The area has grown so much over the last few years with the addition of the lift that connects Pengelstein to Pass Thurn that I didn't get a chance to ski the whole resort, so I'm not sure what the situation is like over at Pass Thurn.

The lift back up to the Barenbadkogel coming from the Zweitausender is a T-bar (F8 Gauxjoch) and unavoidable if you want to ski back from Pass Thurn towards Kitz. It's not that steep but is longish IIRC. The run down goes along beside it so you can have a look at the lift when going down. Looking at the piste map there is also one T-bar at the top of Jochberg.

Buttons would be better in Scotland. Ever tried using a t-bar in a force 9 with another human...

There are the odd one around. I think the A10/Walde one is hard to avoid if coming from the hahnenkamm lift.
I'd never used T-bars before as a boarder and was dreading it, but in the end they weren't too bad and I find T-bars a lot less awkward than buttons..

Just back from Kitz yesterday. There are two T-bars that I encountered, both quite long, both unavoidable if you're in that area. If you're getting onto the mountain from Jochberg you need to take one from about halfway up to get to the top, and more significantly (as said earlier), you need to catch one if you want to head back to Kitz from Pass Thurn. Re the second, consider not coming back at all and just ski down the mountain from that side at the end of the day, then catch the free bus back to town. It was a piece of cake, and meant we didn't have to allow a couple of hours slugging it back across the hill (including the S3 cable) just to meet up with rush hour with burning thighs down the Hahnenkamm!
