Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Jet 2: Do They Run Charters for First Choice?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just booked a week in Brides Les Bains in 3 weeks' time with First Choice Very Happy ......We normally do DIY trips - haven't done a package hol for more than 10 years - but were lured by the bargain on offer - we can't get cheaper than £245 per person wink (flights, transfers, digs) on a DIY package.......which brings me onto my query.

Now it's all booked, we see that the flights - which are from Leeds Bradford to Chambery - are operated by Jet 2.
As the Saturday flights in question (out at 15.55 and back at 20.10) don't appear in Jet 2's timetables we are assuming that:
a. They are not scheduled but charter flights.
b. We can take 20kg of luggage each (as per First Choice's normal package hol allowance) without paying any extra (We have already paid £30 each to take skis).

First Choice's online info says words to the effect that luggage allowances may differ where scheduled airlines are used - but given the above I am presuming that we are on a charter flight??

Can any fellow snowHead advise?

mountainaddict, Jet2's allowance is 22Kg, so it wouldn't be a problem if they enforced that. Very Happy

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

geepee: That's good - though we travel light and weight won't be an issue. It's more a case of whether we are entitled to luggage free of charge in the first place Puzzled

mountainaddict, You don't get any free luggage allowance with Jet2. I paid a few pence under £10 per 22Kg item of luggage and £25 for skis, but that is only a one way trip, coming back with EJ.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I know that applies to their normal timetable - but the flights I have booked are part of a package holiday with First Choice and DO NOT appear in Jet 2's timetables on their website. I therefore assume that First choice has chartered the planes and I will get free luggage Puzzled

Errrr......???? Wouldn't that defeat the object of being a snowHead?? There are thousands of queries on here that could be answered with a phone call - but that's not the point!
Anyway, I'm in no rush - and if I had telephoned First Choice, and as the OP was only 2 days ago - I would still be on now - Pressing 1 for queries on new bookings.....or 2 for our latest snow reports.....or 3 for next year's brochure.....or 4 to hear our terms and conditions...or 5 to speak to one of our customer-focused liaison executives...... Confused
