Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Binding Question: Using old Look zr turntable heel with pivot toe?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I need to put some bindings on some older skis, and as my fks120 have turntable heel and pivot toe wondered if this would be a good idea or not.....Embarassed

Old look Zr turntable heel din 5 to 13 and look pivot 12 toe din 4 to 12.

I don't like the old zr toe, (went in the bin a long time ago (which was probably silly thing to do as people seem to collect these things on TGR!) as i was keeping the heels for the brakes)

I want full upward release as well and the pivot toe does that.

So its the same set up as the fks120, but i would be mixing different bindings toe and heel...unwise?

carroz, no problem, that's exactly what the relaunched Pivot 14 is, ie the full turntable heel & the latest fully functional toe piece. If you want a specific delta angle you'll have to do a bit of measuring/shimming etc to get what you want. I've got shims in stock but Look/Rossi are shoite when it comes to getting longer screws so the last few I've done have been mounted with Quiver Killer inserts making the screws are doddle to get right.

carroz, just make sure the springs are still OK, Many years ago I tool apart my Look 99Rs to check greasing and discovered that the springs had shattered in many places...

Not a good look...(sorry, couldn't resist the pun)
