Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salomon Lord 177 Mid Sole marking

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My Sal Lords have a white line across the ski, as seen here in amongst the graphics - www.salomon.com/uk/product/lord.html - which I assume is the mid point line to match up with the boot midsole line. It does not seem to tie up with the published dimension of 791mm for 177 skis, which I understand is measured from the tail. Can anyone confirm?? And whether the measurement is along the top surface or bottom of the ski??

Are you saying your boots midsole line doesn't match the skis line when clipped in?

No, the skis do not have mountings on yet. Sal publish the mid sole line as 791mm from the tail. The white line across the ski is 770mm from the tail. So just curious to know why the difference???

Can't comment on salomons method of arriving at this, maybe a typo, can't arrive at this either - measuring from tail, around the tail, contact point etc.
But with with mine @ 177 stood on end, from floor to sole line is 770, I would very much doubt if yours measure different to this.

gatecrasher, Thanks - and I managed to get an email into Salomon and got a reply from the Ski tech. 771mm is the factory measurement for a Lord 177cm, +- 5mm. Their docs have not been updated since 2008/9!! Possibly the Lord line has been moved by 2cm since first introduction

also another consideration is that the ski length i believe is measured before the tips have the bends so as yours are twins then they will be slightly shorter than 171 anyway wink
