Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Would appreciate any feedback which country is more economical when VAT etc is considered.
Staying near Zell Am See at end of the month, any preferred ski shops for the best"deal" ?
Thanks

John

just look around I am sure they will be cheaper in Germany but you will probably have to go on e the bigger town like rossenheim which is probably the closest big town to Zell, but I am sue all the shops will be discounting there ski's by now, intersport is worth looking at, also check out hervi's when i lived in austria last year they seemed to be selling ski's very cheaply right through the season. Just outside salzburg airport is a retail outlet village most things are not so cheap but they do have a sports shop there which has some great ski offers.

whakapapa, in Austria the sales have been in full flow for a few weeks now. The bigger chains such as Intersport, Intersport Eybl, Hervis, etc have marked their skis down - some not by massive amounts (the ones I have my eyes on were reduced from 650 to 500 euros - still too much for me) but there are bargains to be had. Be careful as some of the shops can also put in the backroom the very latest models and bring out old stock. That having been said, if you do not wish to buy the very latest there are some real bargains out there

Richiavo, the sports shop at the Salzburg retail outlet village is not great. Better off heading into Salzburg (well the outskirts) and visting Intersport Eybl which is huge and stock a very wide range of skis, ski gear etc

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Sleipnir, Richiavo, Patch,
Thanks for the names of the bigger outlets, good to hear the sales have started.
If you can arrange a dump by the 27th Feb that would be good too!

Cheers
John

whakapap the snow dump before 27th Feb may be a little more tricky, but leave it with me! Very Happy I need some snow also as I'm off to Sölden at a similar time, but thankfully as it is so high with a glacier, all should be ok

Have fun in Austria

Pfiat di!
