Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Is there a free and simple app for plotting the positions of your ski mates in real time? Something that just showed a google map of your location with pins in showing where your mates are. Seen a few on the app store but they seem complicated/expensive/need facebook logins and stuff like that.

Have a look at Google Latitude , I think it will do what your after and it's free so worth a go, saying that I don't know about costs because of data use abroad though. www.google.co.uk/latitude

I think that may be only on the android system though?

I've got it turned on, on my phone and it works really well. But it does use GPS and therefore I guess it will use rather a lot of data costs should you be using it abroad.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Latitude looks spot on - thanks. And there's an app for it. Don't know how I missed it. App store search is rubbish. (satsports looks good but expensive).

Latitude still seems a bit restricted though. Can't specify how often to update your position. If it's updating constantly then data roaming could get pricey.
