Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dark in Scandinavia?

There is coments here about scandinavian skiresort that it dark in wintertime, is that true? yes in the beginning of season, but for the rest of the season is a myth that is dark,, I will here give infomation about when the sun is coming up and going down in 3 different big resorts, sun up/sun down, Hemsedal Norway, Åre Sweden and Riksgränsen Sweden (Riksgränsen start season february) , 21 december Hemsedal 8.47am/2.45pm, Åre 9.24am/2.08pm,, 21 January Hemsedal 8.47am/3.35, Åre 9.23am/3.09pm,, 21 february Hemsedal 7.11am/4.53pm, Åre 7.22am/4.43pm, Riksgränsen 7.36am/4.11pm,, 21 Mars, Hemsedal 5.50am/6.01pm, Åre 5.50am/6.03pm, Riksgränsen 5.40am/5.55,, 21 april, Hemsedal 5.20am/8.15pm, Åre 5.07am/8.29pm, Riksgränsen 4.28am/8.50pm,, 21 May Riksgränsen 2.04am/11.12pm,, 21 June Riksgränsen (last dates of open skiarea) Midnightsun, midnightsun starts at 1th of June,,
