Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Missing ski tip at tail

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We've heard of Missions delaminating - here's something different:

No idea how it happened - but it doesn't seem to affect handling - even in deep snow. I guess I should protect the tail with the missing tip for general handling, though (not much point in complaining to Scott - the skis, though much loved have been well used. I was thinking of simply aralditing in either an old ski edge (if I can get hold of one) maybe let in with a slit made with a jeweller's slitting disc, or perhaps simply pinning on a length of ally (with araldite). Any thoughts? Don't want to change them before the end of the season at least - partly because that would stretch the budget - and partly because I am very fond of these skis.

Just use a slow set epoxy to seal the edge and call it done. I would have been very impressed if you can tell the difference by 3mm being shaved off the tail of your ski.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I had a similar problem last year where a tip came off on landing after a little jump. Luckily I noticed and found it and it just pushed in again. No more trouble since then. If your tip just clips in like mine (Atomic), maybe you could get a replacement from Scott.

Thanks guys - and to spyderjon who responded to a PM I had sent him. Not at home at the moment, but IIRC the tail is looking a little scraped so I don't think anything would plug back - so I'll just seal the tail with araldite & sand it down when it's fully cured.
