barry, "does well" is normally reserved for those who didn't win but got close or simply exceeded expectations. Also, why the need for "young" when its a Junior 1 World Championship? Poor headline writing.

Yes well done Jack a good result. Always great to get some titles.
He is currently ranked 14th in the World in GS for Jun 1 (94-95 yob).
None of the guys ranked above him competed at the champs. Most Alpine nations only send Jun 2 racers to compete.
Also have to pick you up on your headline too. He was Junior 1 World champion. There is a vast difference between that and Junior World Champion.
He is a great talent and hopefully he will progress to become world class in later years. Mind you he has an enormous budget behind him which always helps!
