Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

where to go to get 3 1/2 year olds ski lessons

Booking for next year. Need a good place for the kids, two girls 7 one girl 4 1/2 and a boy 3 1/2. One boarding Dad, one intermediate Mum, and a Mum and Dad who are absolute beginners. I just know some places don't do under 4's. It would help if all the lessons are in the morning so we all can get together in the afternoon. Probably a catered chalet.

Hi,

Sounds like a great plan!

In France the ESF take children from 3 years old in their group lessons. They have a mixed reputation with excellent schools in some resorts, and less good ones in others. They have an English language program too called World Class ski. If you would prefer a British instructor or an independant ski school, most will offer private lessons for a 3 1/2 year old, although not many accept them into group lessons

We tend to find that for the younger ones a morning skiing is enough, and that its too tiring to do all day. In most resorts you'll find afternoons only childcare, often with a pick-up from the ski school if you want. As an example, we recommend a private nanny company who will meet the kids from ski school and spend the afternoon with them.

Good luck!

Heather

Roughneck, Have a look at Kappl. We're just back from our second trip there and although our kids are older than yours (7 10 and 13), there is a huge creche area beside the ski school and mid point in the mountain. Ski school looked excellent for kids although we've only used a couple of Private lessons, both of which were excellent. http://www.kappl.com/ski-holiday-tyrol.en.htm It basically means mum and dad can spend all day on mountain without having to come off to check on youngest etc. All the runs funnell in to the Sunny Mountain complex. Stayed at Gasthof Alpenfrieden right beside slope - highly recommend it

Roughneck, Go to La Rosiere, the nursery/creche Les Galopins is attached to the ESF and they have an excellent reputation. They take children from 18 months to 12 years organise lessons for them and ensure their looked after throuhout the day. They have dedicated snow play areas at both their locations, in the village and at Les Eucherts. The ESF have a Jardins des Enfants exclusively for the younger children. Alternatively you could go with Ski Espirit, La Rosiere is their most popular resort, you'll find lots of reviews on Snowheads. For more details go to www.larosiere.net where you'll find lots of information.

We're taking our 3 1/2 year old to Morzine next week, staying at Rude Chalets, also have 2 beginner snow boarders with us (they have done a few days boarding). He is booked into the Piou Piou club for mornings, we're going to see how he is, and maybe see if he can stay for lunch an odd day to give us a bit longer. Will try and remember to post how it all goes.

I can highly recommend crystal 2000 in courchevel 1850 with Esprit. We went there with our 4 and 1 yr old in december. Ellie our 4 yr old was skiing with 2 other 3 year olds in their spritelets class. She absolutely loved it

Esprit looks great and we nearly booked with them this year. The only thing that put us off is the 3 1/2 year old would have to ski in the afternoon and not the same time as her sister in the morning. We'd like to do something in the afternoon all together.
