Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transport Val Thorens to Geneva 30 April 2011

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

I have booked a flight to Geneva and 3 weeks in Val Thorens from 9-30 April. Seems easy to get there at a reasonable price from Geneva due to the bus/coach companies but they all seem to close down before the 30th for the return.

Does anyone have experience of trying to leave Val Thorens at the end of the season - are there some transport companies which still operate that late on a shared basis. The only reasonably priced solution I can see at present is a taxi to Moutiers and then a lengthy and complicated train trip.

Alternatively, anyone else returning on that day who wants to share private transport.

Thanks

Vaughan

Davake, welcome to snowHeads!

You will see from
this thread http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=68569
and this one http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=67092
that there will be plenty of snowHeads in Val Thorens during two out of the three weeks of your stay.

There will also be people leaving VT on 30 April, in coaches which are commonly know as Lardy Buses (don't ask) see
this thread http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=68454 Have a look at this thread and, if your flight is at a suitable time on the 30th, it might be possible for you to book a seat on one of the coaches. The best way of finding out whether this would be possible would be to send Michelle a private message (Send/Read Messages - top right of your screen.)

Hope this helps and maybe see you in VT. Smile
