Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hi jaffa, me and 5 mates went there last march all boarders. there are a few annoying flat bits but on the horn there isnt any flat bits that i can think off, but there isnt enough runs on there for the whole week so you will go on the hannekham sorry about the spelling lol and there is loads of good runs on the for boraders, and you can also get a cable bus to another resort which we went to and the runs was very good and challenging and none about which was great so no skiers giving us dirty looks! if you need any more info let me know we had a great time there night life etc was great Very Happy

I'm going on an Allocation On Arrival in Austria in 2 days' time. If I end up in Kitzbühel I'll be sure to add anything I learn, although shaggyofdonny's answer looks pretty good.

Thanks for info shaggy, another quick question, how often is it possible to ride down from Horn side of hill? All webcams I have seen very rarely show any snow at bottom of hill...looks like there is a decent forecast for fresh snow over the next week but how much does it need to cover down to village level?

jaffa_s, I'm going to Kitzbuhel in March also and I've been previously 3 seasons ago. The 'Horn' is a designated snowboard area so there you'll find a larger ratio of boarders to skiers, elsewhere in the resort, it's more skiers than boarders. However, there are only a handful of surface lifts and only one flat bit that I can recall so it's a perfectly suitable area for snowboarding.

The town itself is quite low so don't expect snow at resort level, although they normally do a very good job of keeping one or two resort runs open with artificial snow. The bulk of the ski area is much higher up and the pistes are very well maintained and groomed. Enjoy!

I was in kitz last year in january. I did indeed find that there were quite a few flats. It can be annoying, but overall I still did enjoy Kitz quite a lot.
There are some flats on the horn side as well, depending how you arrive at the bottom of the bowl you might not reach all lifts and will have to dismount. There is also a great piste which unfortunately starts by a schuss then uphill section where even skiers struggle to get to the top.
We were blessed by great snow so spent a lot of time in powder at the side of the pistes.

Sorry, can't think of any particular blue runs....

All I can remember is loads of flats, which is a shame as the town looked really nice on the day that we were
over there. It was too foggy, making it impossible to see where the next flat was in a resort we didn't know Puzzled

I'd go again though, just need more time to work the place out.
