Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hiring skis; book on internet or just turn up?

Can you advise if the discounts for rental skis that are shown on the internet are genuine or will you get the same price if you show up in resort & pay on the day?
Thanks in advance

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

flangesax,
The post was for all resorts really but more specifically Cervinia , off there on the 23rd; found some 1/2 decent prices online with 'skiset', 'snowbrainer' etc but they all suggest that these are internet prices only.
Thanks for the 'heads up' regards ski amade though.

Hi,

I've used skiset a few times - they were good and everything worked out fine.
The discount was good and saved me money.
I expect walk-in prices would be higher, and in high season it might be better to book anyway.
Check where the shop actually is though, if it's miles from the accomodation then the discount might not be worth the extra walk.

Rich

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have used skiset a couple of times in Cervinia they use the Nol-Ski shop which is on the road along to the Cretaz chairlift so ideal if you are staying in the centre of town. Definitely worked out cheaper that the walk in price.

Generally if equipment is booked on the web, you will get a better price, however you will generally get equipment comensurate with the price that you pay. Dont believe the 30 or more percent reduction rates as the base prices are driven up in order to cover the discount OR you will get the poorer standard of kit and not particularly well serviced.
