Poster: A snowHead

Planning on taking campervan to Alps w skis&kids, mid Feb for 2 weeks, skiing and exploring. Looking for places to park up mid size campervan for a few nights, ideally next to lift systems, but at lower altitude than the high resorts to avoid mountain roads. Even better if close to swimming facilities too. Any suggestions/warnings anyone?

ChrisPS, welcome to Snowheads. As nbt says there's one ski in/out and one almost ski in/out place here in Les Saisies - see http://www.motorhomeski.com/places-to-stay/france/savoie/les-saisies
However they, and the rest of the French Alps, will be super-crowded during those weeks. Are your dates absolutely fixed?
No swimming facilities here - but no very hairy roads to get here either.

Thanks for speedy replies. Maybe Switzerland would be less busy in Feb or is that wishful thinking? We are fixed on those dates, 5/2-19/2, unless we leave it til April and take the bikes as well (would get 3 weeks away then). Are the places at Les Saisies and Belle Plagne free carparks? Someone mentioned Le Chable for access to Verbier as a good bet.
I'll check the link pam, thanks

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There's a free campervan area at Sainte Foy. Easy drive up and it's very close to the lifts. There's a pool nearby too, but it's not cheap as it's more of a "spa".
