Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A few months ago I managed to damage my L4 disc by doing something silly
with a ladder on the roof Shocked
Was in agony for a few days but after treatment am now pretty good, however I wonder
if I should get some form of support before heading off to the slopes?
Going to take it steady but Puzzled
Thanks

I have absolutely no medical knowledge and have no idea what part of the back the L4 disc is in but.... I do get lower back pain and find the thermacare wrap round back heat pads great for skiing. I wear one every day and they keep the lower back nice and warm. Supadrug and Boots sell them.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks, but I'm not in any pain, just considering some form of protection & support when skiing, L4 is lower back. Smile

provenjohn, a better idea would be do some core strength work which will give your back better support than a corset or strap type arrangement, and some mobility work to keep everything moving well. Pilates is good for both of these. Or a sports physio should be able to point you in the right direction.
