Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

1550 should be significantly cheaper than Courchevel 1850, which is only a gondola or chair ride away.

Look at somewhere like igluski, ifyouski or ski solutions for some late deals.

We stayed at 1550 three or four seasons ago and it was much cheaper than 1850, which was only 7 or 8 minutes away in the direct gondola

There wasn't much there, a few shops and restaurants and a pub or two, but we were eating in the hotel most nights so it wasn't a big deal.

We stayed in Chalethotel Chanrossa in 1550 several times when it was run by Ski Olympic. I think Ski Power have it now. There are a few friendly bars (beware the Mutzig) and some pleasant restaurants - a buzzing pizza place and a more upmarket joint called l'oiel de boeuf or something like that. We have always enjoyed it there, and as Whitters, says, jou can just jump on a bubble and be in 1850 in minutes, and ski back down to 1550 at the end of the day.
