Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Booking late in Jan

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi guys,

I want to book a ski trip with my girlfriend in mid jan. 15th or 16th is when we'd probably leave, so it's obviously low season. We are on a fairly tight budget though, so I am thinking that I may just leave booking it until the week before, as I've already asked for that week off work. Do you think that's a good idea and will the prices go down significantly if we leave it late like this?

Cheers,

C

I do think it is a good idea (might end up doing the same myself as my carefully planned trip has fallen foul of injuries) and there should be plenty available. I don't know about the prices, but there are normally bargains if you are not too fussy about where you go.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Doing the same thing myself. The trick is to keep looking and if the right price comes up grab it. It is key to keep your nerve and hold out for a budgeted price dont pay too much attention to tour ops advertising as they obviously want you to pay as much as possible.

I would be very surprised if it does not work out - no guarantees though!
