Poster: A snowHead

I want to pre-order some boots and skis online. If my shoe size is 7 then what size boot should I order (i.e. do boot sizes take thick socks into account)?
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for ski hire web sites?
Cheers, Pete

PeteMan, order your shoe size. if they aren't a good fit then the shop will change them. There is unlikely to be a pair of boots with your name on 'em at the shop, it just means they have an idea of what you want.
Also, thin socks are better, not the thick tube ones
ski hire recommendations will depend on where you are going.

PeteMan,
Hi, in my experience UK size 7 corresponds to Mondo 26.0 or 26.5, but I wouldn't worry if you are booking them online, as the ski shop will definately let you try on several pairs of boots to find the most comfortable fit. You will need to have ski socks on when trying them on to make sure the fit is correct. Also should comment that you should invest ina good(ish) set of ski socks that are not too thick, but warm and have padding in the pressure areas, something like....

In terms of ski hire websites, check out snowrental.com, snowbrainer.com, skiset.com, all serve major resorts and have good discount online.
Have a great trip!!

If they don't measure the size of your feet, with your skiing socks on, in the hire shop then worry!
