Looks very bumpy - is it always like this?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

andyph, TBH I haven´t seen Val Gardena that "bumpy" before, the constant terrain change and light/shadow can´t help either. Thank God David Poisson walked away from that crash, it was horrific

kooky, quite. I'm no expert, but I don't think it's considered good form to pull a 180 before you hit the deck.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

andyph, indeed, especially when you are travelling at approx 100 kmh
That was one of the best DHs I have seen in ages, in the inteviews after both Michi Walchofer and Didier Cuche said they had seen the crashes, it must put an incredible amount of psychological pressure on them , I know its an important tool for them when they are up in the start house to view the race, but I do wonder if it sometimes stops them from actually letting the skis run, as they are thinking too much?

Most of racers don't watch Tv up on start. We just had this discussion on Friday evening in Val Gardena with few of Slovenian downhillers. They have few trainings before, they run that same course for years, they made inspection just before the race, so they have necessary data in their heads. Watching TV on start just make you think and change already decided things... based on wrong data.
