Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi,
Planning to be in Mottaret at the end of January, and was considering Snow Systems for instruction for the family, who are at an intermediate level.
Anyone have any good or bad reviews of them?
English speaking instructors?
They have normally used ESF on previous trips, but I'm thinking of trying something different this time.
Ta.

Hi,
Check out New Generation ( www.skinewgen.com ). We are based in Meribel but that is an easy green run from Mottaret or we can often meet you in Mottaret for private lessons. We currently have a promotion of 15% off afternoon private lessons in January if you book now. All lessons are in English and most of our instructors are British. If you have any questions feel free to ask here or PM me.
Regards, Mike (New Gen Instructor)
P.S. I am also from Edinburgh so understand the system and levels at Hillend if any of your family have skied there.

Douglas C, we used New Gen in Courchevel some years ago - 2 of us, different groups, both very happy with the instructors, one of whom was the late, great Ali Rainback. RIP.

Thanks all for the info.
Once the trip is booked (maybe this weekend) I'll have a better idea of arrival time. It's likely to be a Saturday flight, so we'll need to decide if a Sunday or Monday start will work best.
Snowrider, I'll check out their ability grades on the newgen chart, and pm/email to discuss options.

I did beginner group lessons with Snow Systems a couple of years ago. They were ok, but nothing special. I didn't find them much different to an ESF group lesson.
The main issue for me was that the group was relatively large. I was finding that because I was getting a lot of mileage in outside of lessons I was finding the lessons slow and unchallenging after the first couple of days, and I was not getting much attention from the instructor because he had people with bigger problems to worry about. However because I wasn't particularly fast (never have been, never will be; in all sports I am a technician, not a speed freak!) I didn't get moved up either. I don't know what they are like for intermediate lessons mind you....
I am back in Mottaret this year and have a technique clinic booked with NewGen based on the recommendations of several friends.

Douglas C, I have been working with Snow Systems a few years ago. No comments!
I have been working with New Generation in Courchevel and in Meribel. Now I am working as an independent ski instructor mainly in Courchevel and Meribel. Well, if you need private ski lessons, contact me ; I am available at the end of January. Many thanks.
