What is the difference found in a womens specific ski ? ie K2 NANCY VS K2 SETH ? ... softer , lighter different mounting point ? does this mean that they are not suitable for men ? Would the nancy be a good ski for a 15/16 year old boy, apart from having Nancy written in bright orange on his skiis ?

Depends on the Company, Salomon's Freeski range is the exact same ski for men and women with diffrent graphics.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You'd expect them to be slightly softer and maybe narrower, to account for women being generally smaller and generally not as strong as men. I'd get the boy the Seth, although it would provide quite a few laughs...

I think you've just answered your own question. What are you trying to do, get the prize for most embarrassing parent of all time in the whole history of the world ever?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ive already got the medal for embarrassing dad ! .... but seriously, are the women specific skis greatly different,. I have seen in one of Warren Millers dvds a young lad skiing powder on Nancys for the very reason they are as clarky says softer etc so possibly a good choice of (powder) ski for a younger , lighter lad... ...

limegreen1, Seths are soft enough anyway.

If you get him the ones with Nancy written on them he'll have to paint it all out with black paint - like Adrian Mole, trying to get rid of Noddy's little bells. Poor little sod.

limegreen1, Women's skis are a good way to go for lighter teenagers who need something longer that junior sizes, but may find adult men's skis too stiff. My youngest Oliver (13) skis on K2 Missdemeanors, but they are not too girly looking - he would have NEVER accepted a ski with "Nancy" on it

mmm, .... I can hear it now as he accepts the skis, sees nancy scrawled on the base and quietly asks for a father son chat, in which he expresses that he was confused, .. rather uncertain about his sexuality in his early pubescent years etc etc, and sees the gift as a way of my understanding ..... WHAT A DAD !

limegreen1, more likely you'll convnce a regular totty-obsessed teenager that his father thinks he's gay - what's that going to do to the poor boy?
I'm with Patch, here - bird skis could be a good solution for a tall teen who hasn't yet got to his adult weight. But not (and I cannot emphasise this enough), NOT with 'Nancy' written on them. In orange. Why don't you just go the whole hog and get him some pink ones with kittens on?
