Finally got myself a second board. After much deliberation I went for the Ride Society UL at 160. I was thinking about the Rome Agent or Agent rocker but this seems like the real deal. I just wanted to know from those in the know should I de-tune the edges for riding piste and off piste? is it necessary?

Do you mean just de-tuning the tail and tip? I did de-tune those parts of the edges on my board. I understand the theory is that those parts of the board don't do any of the work, and if you do catch a bit of the edge there you don't want it to be grabby.
As for the main edges I know some people de-tune the whole edge for park work, but I don't know why you would want to alter the edge for piste/off piste fun. I just work on the basis that i like a good sharp edge on piste for grip on icy patches, so that's how I set up my board.
This could be guff advice mind you!

Basically on and off piste you want grip, not in powder but in icy crud which you inevitably meet at some point on a normal run. If your board becomes a bit hooky at the start of a turn it might be worth thinking about it then or even better would be to change the angle slightly so it feeds in from the nose/tail.
If you're doing a lot of park, especially rails, then it's worth detuning the whole edge.

The advice is to detune a couple of cm beyond the contact points at both ends to stop "hookiness". I used to do this when I had lots of time off the board and not enough time on it.
These days when I have lots of time on the board and not enough on it, I don't bother. Can't say I've noticed any difference. Certainly not catching any edges.

You will only notice it on rails and on ice. Rails require blunt edges, ice requires carving knives. On good pistes or off piste, you won't notice a difference.
I have mine razor sharp as I don't do the park.

I would only de-tune your edges if your want to use the park, they are more forgiving on a bad landing as they don't cut into the snow as much and obviously don't catch on a rails and other fun park bits. With regards to riding on piste and off, there is no need at all.
