Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Schladming without a car - is the skibus rubbish?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hello All,

I'm just about to book an apartment in Schladming, one which seems to be nowhere near the town centre (fine - I hate noise!) but with a skibus stop nearby.

Has anyone had any experience of local transport in Schladming? Is the bus much cop? I'm going 4th of March.

Thanks! Liam

lrx28, I went to Haus both this year and last year. There is a skibus service that interconnects the 4 mountains of Hauser-Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reitaralm. The service was OK and didn't present us with any difficulties, you just have to work within it. The buses didn't run too often, iirc, it was an hourly service. Sometimes they got a little busy.

I don't know about the out-of-hours service if you want to go back to town in the evenings.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

lrx28, The taxis are very cheap, fast to respond and run pretty much 24/7 and Schladming's fairly small.

Had no probelms there a couple of years ago without own car, relied on buses.
