Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Another Scotland thread (specific problem)

Seeing the promising forecast two weeks ago my family booked to spend the 2nd-5th January in Aviemore with the intention of skiing Cairngorm, we know that there is still high chance that there will be no skiing due to storms/blocked roads/thaw but it is looking promising and that was the only time we could all go and booking now meant dirt cheap train tickets. Anyway the problem is that we are arriving in Aviemore at 10:18 and had banked on dropping our kit at the youth hostel and getting the bus up to the ski area but it appears that there will be no buses that day. So is there any other way for 6 of us to get from Aviemore to the ski centre on the 2nd of January at about 11-12 short of a taxi?

Thanks

Taxi or thumb a lift. It is too far to walk carrying kit.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Advertise on here close to the time and see if any snowheads with cars will be going up.

If you don't already, look on the Winterhighland site as well. As snowball said, there could be some nice folk about, but 6 in a taxi should be manageable (and would mean you could travel together, unlikely if getting lifts) - try calling taxi firms in Aviemore to see how much it would cost, and if they have big enough vehicles you could book?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Taxi up and then thumb a lift down. Easiest lift you will ever get, probably have to split up though.
