Poster: A snowHead
|
I am planning a 4 day trip and I have flights booked to Geneva (Feb 9th).
Should I book accommodation now or wait until later ?
I've been looking at Grand Massif and also PdS and others. We did Les Gets last time and loved it.
Any thoughts ?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Sounds like half term, which means part-weeks might be tricky. I'd book now and consider taking an apartment for 7 days and just using the 4.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It's actually a few days before half term. And before the French are on holiday.

Resorts will get v busy from Saturday 12th February re the French 1/2 term - I'm usre you could pick up accomodation for three nights (9-11th) pretty easily but 12th will be difficult.
Not sure how large your party is but let me know if I can help in Les Carroz

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'm only after 3 nights accommodation - we fly home on the Saturday
There are only two of us on this trip.

You should be fine waiting late if there are only two of you. Plenty of options close to Geneva for three/four days - PduS, GrandMassif, Grand Bornand or Chamonix resorts , or head the other way towards Verbier..

Do you think, typically, that the price will be cheaper if I book it later or not ?

if you book through tour operators, probably not. If you go direct, and private owners have space at late notice, then yes.
