Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Back in the day Burton used to do a 3 strap Freeride binding called informally the calliper. It didn't survive. I'd guess with wider heel straps nowadays stiffness is all in the highback design/material, forward lean and spine of the boot not that Flows are stiffer than anything else.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I don't know of a binding that uses a strap around the cuff, I don't think it would be of much benefit since the hi-back is hinged at the ankle on every binding i can think of.

I guess you could get the aftermarket 'Booster' strap more often added to ski boots, or ask if your local ski shop have some old velcro straps knocking about.

I was sure I'd seen a binding like this recently (having not seen one since the Burton Freeride which disappeared around 1999). Funnily enough, the only application I could think of where it might be useful was a splitboard binding and voila: http://www.sparkrandd.com/products/the-blaze/

Note the "vertical slots for a booster strap".

Given that most highbacks now have cut-aways of some description, you could probably bodge a strap onto just about any binding. Really not sure why you'd want to though - lateral flex isn't a bad thing and your highback/boots should control forward/backward flex properly.
