Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone been to the ice driving school/track in Flaine?

We are going in Feb 2011 and I was wondering about having ago while we are there (obviously depending on cost/comments).

Also does anyone know if the "Terases de Veret" is finished? We were a bit worried about booking somewhere that was still under construction!

Haven't been on the ice track so can't help.

Is the Terases de Veret the new development at the end of Foret close to the Grands Vans chair? If so, when I was there in Augsut the outside was pretty much finished and they were busy working on the inside. The signs outside said 'opening December 2010. My guess would be that some of it will be open for this season but perhaps not all of it. You might be able to get some idea from the Flaine webcams www.snoweye.com/?resort=fr_flaine, there is one that shows the bottom of the Grands Vans chair but can't remember if it shows the new development (dark at present!).

LDM, iirc a snowHead has bought one of the new apartments and it was mentioned over the summer months. I'm sure he was getting the keys in the autumn. Try a search...sorry I haven't got time to do it now snowHead

The post in the summer may well have been one I started when I was first looking at going to Flaine.
