Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Taxi to Obergurgl from Innsbruck airport 24 December 10am ish

We're taking a cab to Obergurgl on Christmas eve and wondered if anyone wanted to split the costs? We're two so another couple would be ideal. We arrive on EZ5391 from LGW at 0950, so it would be ideal if you were on the same flight to save any hanging around if planes are delayed. It would also suit anyone going to Solden.

Hi Steve,

Out of interest what is this years cost for a taxi to Obergurgl? We have the same problem but we are arriving on 19th Dec. I have hired a car in the past for around £100 (and not used it all week!) but the price for car hire is coming in at £160 this year.

Chris, Innsbruck Airport suggest that a taxi is about €175 http://www.innsbruck-airport.com/scms/media.php/6914/Taxi%20Fees.pdf.

Another option is to use the shuttle bus http://www.obergurgl.com/main/EN/GG/WI/orte/anreise_oetztalshuttle/index.html which would be €42 per person. It doesn't work for us because unless we clear the airport in record time we're likely to have to hang around for 4hrs for the next shuttle, which isn't an ideal way to start your hols!

I have rented a car in the end- went for the cheapest, smallest option as there is just the two of us plus 3 year old daughter- then a week after I booked it The Mother In Law decides she wants to come along! now we have to fit in her and her luggage! (As well as booking flights and Hotel for her) But on the bright side we now have a baby sitter! bring on the Nedderhutte!
