Poster: A snowHead

Anyone going??
I'd be interested in hooking up Flanagan Bar (again) and arranging a proper St Patricks Day shin-dig....NOT some paddy whackery immitation.
Proper Irish music NOT "Breakfast at Tiffanys"
Proper Irish food NOT Chilli Tortillas
Proper pulled Guinness NOT filled straight to the top and served like lager in a student bar.
Proper fancy dress competition NOT giving a bottle of decent Jameson to your mate dressed as Batman.
Proper shamrock for the guests NOT Absolut Vodka rosettes.
Anyone???

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Why?
March 17th is late for a low resort like Kitzbuhel - even if you have a public holiday to use up.
Paddywhackery is the now the usual format for the day. You might as well fill the place with Americans drinking green beer and and talking about 'Saint Patty's Day'. Lots of people wearing those silly Guinness hats etc.
I am not sure what is 'proper St. Patrick's Day' anyway. Declan Nerney on the jukebox? Jackeens eating bacon and cabbage?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sad to see the Celtic Tiger days go. Bribing foreign companies with low tax is always fraught with danger. Dell had no reason to hang around in Limerick if they got a better offer elsewhere.
All made a lot worse by chancers given cheap money to inflate property prices.
At least the education system is good order so new migrants will be better placed for jobs.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

And I am fairly sure Flanagan's in Kitzbuehel is English-owned - all their bar staff seem to be English in any case.

Nothing really - just for an 'Irish bar' it doesn't really feel very Irish!!

Forget St Patricks day. without doubt the best time to go to Kitz is the day the Mens Downhill in town. Arrive on the Saturday, watch the races, party then on the Sunday ski the course (all apart from the top as you can't do that anymore) it's awesome!

GeorgeVII, I was there myself...and yes the Strief looked very poor at the bottom, but the rest of resort was amazing....up the top of the Kitzbuheler Horn was incredible.
