Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Serre Chevalier - Villeneuve Ski Hire

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Search is failing me (possibly as I am out of practise Smile. Any recommendations for ski hire near L'Aravet lift? Looking at this one atm: http://www.snowell.com/2/en/liz_543/SPORTS-MOUNTAIN-Serre-Chevalier-Villeneuve-ski-hire-skirental

Primary concern is a good range of equipment (I'm fussy!) and close to our chalet (apparently at the back of L'Aravet gondola -http://www.zenithholidays.co.uk/france/serre-chevalier-winter/chalet-ridon) and to slopes for ease of changing over if required.

Online reviews look ok, but I trust you guys more Smile

aj xx

a.j., Hi. It is a while since we have stayed there but if it is a Sport 2000 I would think it will be a decent size. In fact I think it may well be the place I bought my first ever ski boots, so not exactly a small shop. IIRC there may be another smaller place at that part of Villeneuve but it is not somewhere we have skiied down to for a while so not so sure.

There are more ski hire shops about a 5 or 8 minute stagger along at Pre Long in the main Centre Commercial in Villeneuve, where the tourist info is located. Brechu is pretty big and they know their stuff. There is also a Twinner place etc etc. Only bummer is you have to stagger back to your apt to take the skis back.

a.j., there's a Twinner at Aravet, Riquet Sports , which is where hubby bought his first skis which has a few branches across the resort. I'm not familiar with the shop you mentioned.

MarjMJ, TBH, nor do we, although I've gone up in the gondola on a couple of occasions recently to meet up with the boys in the Bercail restaurant (lovely lunch if you haven't tried it).

Hells Bells, could be one for this trip - I do remember you guys talking about it. Am getting pretty excited about going out there - I usually don't think about it till the day before, but it has been a pretty rough autumn so far chez nous. I do have memories of skiing the Mickey run and tw@@@tting myself in a concussy sort of a way on it in some flat light. snowHead
