Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Where to board in Japan?

I've got agreement for a boys holiday to Japan in Feb

There will be 3 of us - 1 intermediate skier, 1 expert boarder and 1 novice boarder

We have never been to Japan before, so where would you recommend for boarders? (screw the skier!)

We would like some reasonable night life as well (not too mad as we're all in our late 30's now)

Any ideas?

Sidestepping the boarding/skiing aspect... Hokkaido would be my first choice. Hakuba a good choice too.

I've heard great things about Niseko--our ski club loved it. Four ski areas in one lift ticket... 48KMs of runs... And it sounds like there's a fair bit of fun off the hill too.

I also hear Japanese people generally don't touch the powder and stay on piste.

Sorry I can't be of more service... If you were to ask a year later, I'd hopefully be able to help (it's the destination I want to teach at in 2011-2012!).
