Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

i've flown a couple of times - i think it was from grenoble to LGW & was told by check staff there that i couldn't have my helmet in my hand luggage. i had to put it in my checked in luggage. i don't really like doing that as i've done that one with a kite surfing crash had & it got squashed out of shape - obviously it must've been at the bottom of a pile.

other airports don't seem to worry though.

What reasons do they give for saying no to things like helmets and boots in hand luggage? I can't see that you could murder the flight crew with them so surely if they fit into the overhead lockers they shouldn't really have a problem with them Puzzled

Megamum, as far as I understand it's because you're not supposed to put heavy items in the overhead lockers. In the event of extreme turbulence or just clumsy loading and unloading, these items might fall out and injure someone.

queen bodecia, OK, that buys the ski boots, helmets don't weigh much though compared with say a litre of gin bought in the duty free. I wonder how they justify those?
