Poster: A snowHead

Explorer Eric Larsen is the first person ever to reach the South and North poles, and the summit of Mount Everest within a year. He travelled to what he calls "the top, bottom and roof of the world" with the goal of boosting public awareness about climate change and its effects on remote environments....Larsen and a team made it to the top of Mount Everest on October 14th, after 44 days on the mountain. With a different team, he reached the Geographic North Pole on Earth Day, April 22nd. And, on January 2nd, Larsen and another team arrived at the Geographic South Pole.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

What with flying across the globe, literally, the danged fool is only contributing to climate change
But I want his life, nonetheless.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Presumably this feat is less difficult than it was. ISTR these places were frozen and desolate in my youth, but now they're covered in lush meadows, the going must be a lot easier.

there is also a 3g signal to be found all the way up mount Everest. your lucky if you can set foot at the north pole these days as the ice has melted away so often you need a boat to get to the pole.
shame he did not have the same team for all three so a large number of people would hold the record

Doesn't look like he'd have had much trouble to me:

The left hand panel shows the ice coverage on the day (April 22nd) he was at the pole; the entire arctic basin was full of the stuff. The right panel shows the same day in 1979 (the first year of satellite coverage). Not a whole lot of difference, except in the Sea of Okhostk, to the west of Kamchatka.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Hmm ... my edit came out as a quote: someone else was complaining about that!
