Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

skis and boots for my husband

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My husband has just started to learn to ski (at the snowdome) as part of a trade off where I learn to board!

He has got on well at the snow dome and was irritatingly good after only a few hours. Anyway we are going to do a season this year so he needs some skis and boots that he can grow into which wont break the bank. Any ideas? (mainly for skis as I know he will really need to go try a load of boots on to get the right fit).

He is 5'6 ish and medium build. Thanks

email smallzookeeper with your requirements and photos of hubbys feet, he'll be very glad to advise on boots.

I wouldn't bother buying skis yet, if you're doing a season there's no need to rush. Wait until you've tried a few different one's, see what you like.

Dr John, that's funny I was just going to suggest that if the OP is doing a season maybe hubby should try a few different hire skis first and then make his decision - he will then be able to do some testing in ideal 'on the mountain' conditions.

Megamum, plus the chance to get a discount or a good deal on nearly new/ex demo if you get friendly with the locals.
