Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I stopped posting in BZK (and to a certain extent even reading it) because it seems to have become a place either for BASI qualified instructors, or for those who want to promote their own products - learning to ski from a series of videos will not replace a decent lesson IMO. I also got the impression, at times, that because I'm not in Europe AND I like teaching kids, nothing I had to say was valid.
I don't read or post on Epic anymore - all they do is whine!
I've found that if I really want to discuss technique I have to do so at work, or by email/facebook.

Edit: you've got a reply now anyway ... say's it all IMHO TBH.

skimottaret, rob@rar, neither of you were the ones who gave the impression that my ideas weren't valid, but it was an impression I got from a few others.

At some point I will do a thread on teaching children to ski - but it will have to wait for a couple of weeks because 1. I'm on a dodgy computer (mine has a slight harddrive problem) and 2. my notes are in Tahoe and I'm in Brussels. wink Since I want to present a couple of on snow clinics this season it will be a really good exercise for me to do, although it will be from a PSIA point of view. Very Happy

skimottaret, I had figured you were a Yank - I can't remember what gave it away wink and I think fatbob benefitted from some PSIA types last season (although I sure he must owe me a drink......!)

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

skinanny, I definitely do owe you a drink not least for the kind invite to birthday drinks where I subsequently failed to read my texts. Hope to hit Squllywood for some turns at some point again next season so I really must try to catch you on a day off.

fatbob, you're in deeper than you think - it was an invite to my engagement party! But to be fair it was dumping with snow that night. wink When will you be in Tahoe? snowHead

What about BAYZEE Noise - the forum for discussing the level of noise each ski makes. eg: the peculiar shingsploosh of too much inner tip lead that indicates an imminent slipshy edge wanging back up the hill followed by the twang and sigh of a single spinning ski....

Or the thwock that different helmets make when coming into contact with various objects at different speeds. Eg: which helmets are the loudest thwockers at 20, 30, 40km or more. (Any volunteers for research?)
