Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Likewise, I have just renewed my season ticket for Cairngorm - £254 , it also allows me to get 30% of a day ticket for the four other Scottish Ski Centres , just need some snow now , looking back over the last few years, it might only be another 5-6 weeks before the skis get their first outing of the season. Anything half as decent as last year and will be happy as a pig in poo-poo.

somehow another word for poo has been auto-edited to poo-poo

Ricklovesthepowder,

Weardale is different but also offers great skiing! There are 2 Pomas (end to end) and a great variety of off piste on a good day.

And you get to ski Yad Moss for £15 a day with a Weardale membership. wink

Weardale actually closed memberships last season (due to volume of applications - but we got in just in time...) so it may be worth contacting them sooner rather than later if you are interested in joining. The other significant point was that skiing was restricted to members only on weekends last season (again, following the rush of membership applications - us included).

It's actually in a different valley from Yad Moss and could be a bit more tricky for you to get to from Manchester. (A location map is available below).

The last 2 miles of the drive to the parking area also require snowchains (or a 4x4 - although we saw a 4x4 get stuck last season...) as it's up a steep single track road.

It's well worth the effort though to ski the County Durham Alps! Very Happy

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

But don't let that put you off - those with chains (and space in the car) are usually only to happy to give chainless skiers and boarders who are doing the last bit on foot a lift to the slopes.
