Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Deutche Bahn London to Frankfurt

Should be a nice alternative for UK folk to get to Austria

They reckon a regular connection between London & Frankfurt by end of 2013.

On the radio today they were talking of fares of, IIRC, 59 euros!

At the moment there's a problem in the tunnel 'cos the trains are too short to span the emergency exits to the access tunnel.

Like the idea but will need better onward connection. Still takes 4 trains and about 7 hours to get from Frankfurt to say Kitzbuhel.

If it was direct to Munich via Frankfurt, then it'd be handy.
Frankfurt to Alps is many changes, but if you look really hard you might be able to find one combination that is 1-2 changes from Frankfurt to ski resort. (Frankfurt-Zurich-St.Anton maybe?, or Frankfurt-Munich-Jenbach-Zillertal, or there's the night train from Berlin to ski resorts that goes via frankfurt, but tbh, you may as well fly to Zurich, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Munich anyway).

Oh, regarding connections, I did manage to find 1 train direct from Frankfurt to Alps, but it takes ages.
Frankfurt Hbf, Darmstadt, many stations en route via Munich, Salzburg, Radstadt, Schladming, ... eventually ending up in Graz.

But ICE from Frankfurt-London would be handy for me. Can blag a lift from/to Ebbsfleet (a place that doesn't really exist) and get to the parents place in about 4 hours or so.

SnowHeads' intrepid reporter live at St P has fought her way through the high concentration of trainspotters and can report that yes, it is a train, and yes, it's white.

Although there is something quite exciting seeing a train with German writing on it - I could be en route to Austria ski! snowHead snowHead

This would be a God-send, although slightly too late to provide easy and comfortable access to Frankfurt for when my brother lived out there. altis, are they really saying this would be available for €59? This at a time when my Northern Rail 80-mile fare is about to be subject to a 10% fare increase if the "inflation + 1%" rule is scrapped...making that journey almost £35.
