Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hintertux

Hintertux gets my vote for early season skiing. Also had some great late Nov/early Dec skiing at Pitztal (glacier and Rifflsee area if open) although it is quiet on the apres front compared to the Zillertal!

Shimmy Alcott, Bode Swiller, looks set to dump big time over the weekend. Temperatures down at my lowly elevation (800m) are forecast to be under 9°C and p!ssing down here. So Tux and the others should cop a huge restocking of the white fluffy stuff! Some slight compensation for a miserable free weekend this week will be the chance to ski next week!

Cool

The folk shown in that photo would fill only half the train at Tignes - and (in overall terms) its not a big queue when you consider that the funicular train climbs about 3500 feet vertical in 5 minutes. wink

From the valley to the top of the glacier (even with that queue) would take a comparable time to the ascent at Hintertux. In Tignes you need 2 lifts and in Hintertux 3....

Loads of the white fluffy stuff up there right now - 95cms according to the web site and still snowing heavily.

Watching the Panorama pictures on TV this morning seems to be dumping all over - Lech-Zürs is completely white, so it is down to quite a low level as well. Bloody freezing here at 800m, but only raining cats and dogs unfortunately. The lower level stuff won't last but it is nice to see it building up nicely now.
