Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi
After four years of boarding the Mrs is buying her own kit instead of hiring, partly so we can go up Raise in Cumbria when we get the snow!
Anyway, she's bought a pair of Salomon Ivys (new from ellis brigham) in size 4 and has just bought a very cheap s.hand Burton Feelgood off ebay. Just need the bindings now, but no real idea where to start. She only really boards on piste, no tricks etc and has just started to carve during the last holiday, not a particularly agressive or fast rider (yet). Can't find any suggestions after trawling google, so is there anyone that could give us a suggestion of what to look at?
The board's a pre est, so standard burton fixings.
thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Burton Stiletto or Lexa should do the trick, there are a few of each on ebay at the moment.

As long as they contrast well (I hear "matched" accessories are sooo last season) with the whole ensemble, without clashing, she should be ok.
One tip: Don't recommend anything.
It will forever be your fault, and you'll never hear the last of it.
John.

I just use a couple of lengths of silk or nice soft rope.

I bought my misses a nice set of Flow bindings, Minx I think they were called, she loves them because she is not an "agressive" rider and only has a litlle go off piste!!
She loves tham because she doesnt have to faff with strapping up all the time!
Try this site for cheap kit, it's ellis binghams clearance site!!

Thanks guys, looks like lexas are the ones, have found some on sale on that there t'interweb so got 'em bought.
Thought about flows, but one of my mates had some and didn't get on with them,
I know they'll be wrong and it will all be my fault, but she's been boarding for four years and can't even remember what length of board she's been hiring, so someone's got to take responsibility. Otherwise it will be a ball of hairy string and a couple of slip knots

Bought my missus some K2 Cinch and she loves them - regular looks ad you can do the straps up as normal, but with rear entry for quick in/out, which she envied my Flows for.
Flows are awesome but they do take a bit of getting your head round at times, but nonetheless, good bindings

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
