Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello,

Quick one, am currently in St Anton - it is so dead!!! - am heading to Mayrhofen on Saturday and Kitzbuhel early next week.

Anyone know of any cheap but good places to stay for a night in either of these? We really struggled in St Anton.

Cheers

kosciosco, was in both places in August. Loads of "Zimmer frei" on the b&bs even then so I reckon you're safe just turning up and knocking a few doors.

kosciosco, maybe not exactly cheap, but very nice : Try Hotel Schwarzsee, a bit outside Kitz in really idyllic setting directly on Schwarzsee.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

kosciosco, In Mayrhofen I've stayed several times at the B & B Garni Obermair, see website (how's your German? Toofy Grin ).
They do a very good buffet breakfast, and they also have a small indoor swimming pool. Their website says they are open all year round, and the 2009 October to November daily rate was 25 to 28 Euros pp.

If you want Cheep for Kitz you really can't beat this place - http://www.snowbunnys.co.uk/ but it really is a hostel/backpackers/newquay surf lodge type place - don't take the missus if she likes her creature comforts...

http://www.hotel-ludwig.at/en/default.asp in Kitzbuhel.

We stayed here, (husband and I) last Feb in the Kitzbulher Horn apartment. It's a fab pension just a short walk from town.

The owner is quirky but very friendly and I'd stay here again. Highly recommended!
